Welcome to Conway, the gateway to Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand.
For years, Conway was viewed as just another town travelers would pass through on their way to the beach, most never realizing its unique character.
Originally founded in 1732 as the village of Kingston, Conway is currently home to more than 13,000 residents and is the county seat of Horry County. Conway’s City Hall was designed by Robert Mills, the architect of the Washington Monument. A pleasant, riverside town of quiet neighborhoods, historic structures, and ancient moss-shrouded live oak trees, Conway is also the home of Coastal Carolina University, a major institute of higher learning.
The best of the Old South's charm lives today in picturesque Conway, South Carolina's Historic Rivertown.
